| Ive tried everything to get MSI (server-client) installations to work. Im referring to the example at the end of ch.1 in the sybex book.
Go into C drive and create a shared folder with the admintoolspak.msi file from the I386 folder in the windows 2003 server or windows 2000 server CD.
Then on the server, create a group object and properties, and make the appropriate permissions DOMAIN ADMINS and SYSTEM (check all).
Then click edit on that group object and under user configuration, select software installations, software packages (click new package), point to the location on C drive, and publish. Then Im supposed to see the MSI file show up on the client under add/remove programs in the control panel. But nothing shows up! Ive even tried going with the computer configuration to assign, but still nothing shows up. Can someone help me please? |
