i reinstalled win xp.when i start my pc,i have a choice of the 2 xp systems to boot with:the first is the new installation,and the second is the previous,damaged one.
how do i get rid of the second line?
please help

One solution is to edit your boot.ini file, which controls OS booting for windows.

Be careful when you do this and make sure you create a backup incase you delete the wrong one. It's a hidden system file located on the root of C.

Another way to get around this would be to format the hard drive and relaod the OS from scratch.
