Passed this morning

| I passed my XP exam this morning, and the woman at the testing center said today was the first day they give out scores again.
I got an 849 and you need a 700 to pass. I'd say its pretty safe to assume that 1000 is a perfect score. They break each section down with a horizontal bar indicating how "Weak" or "Strong" you are in each topic.
All in all, it was easier than I expected. I'm looking forward to busting out 70-290 & 70-291 once I can actually get someone to ship me the MS Press books! | |

| Hi Lizardking
Congratulations on passing the exam , what resources did you use to study. Did you find that the exam covered more server stuff than client?
Thanks | |

| Thanks all for the congrats.
I got 2 books for the exam:
MCSE Windows XP Pro Training Guide by Que
&
Exam Cram 2 - Windows XP
The XP Training Guide was pretty worthless for the exam IMHO. It was more suited for as a general overview of what Windows XP can provide than a good exam preparation. It had virtually none of the details necessary to pass the exam.
Exam Cram 2 however was excellent. They should really take the "cram" out of the title. It's a very well written and complete tool thats actually useful to pass the exam.
Besides the books, I also had the Boson test prep software which was quite good also.
I dont think that the exam covered more "Server" topics as opposed to "Workstation." I think people feel that some of the questions are too "server" related because they associate them with a "server" role even if that isn't accurate (ie. Group Policy is very much a workstation issue, but its associated in the minds of many solely with domains).
There were, however, some questions specific to servers relating to topics such as RIS or assigning/publishing software. |
