| For those who have taken this test can anyone give me an idea how difficult this test is compared to the A+, or N+ tests. Obviously, we are talking about different subject matter, but is the test more specific or less specific; more picky or less picky than A+ or N+?! TIA!

| Most Microsoft tests are more difficult than the tests CompTIA puts out. Whether it is easy or not depends on your background.
Personally, I found it to be rather easy, but I had been working with the product since the first beta release | |

| CompTIA exams are usually short, sweet and to the point.
CompTIA question (made up):
What type of cabling would you use in a 10Base2 environment?
A. Coaxial with RJ45 connectors
B. Unshielded Twisted pair with RJ45 connectors
C. Coaxial with BNC connectors
D. Unshielded Twisted Pair with RJ11 connectors
Microsoft style questions generally are senarios or case studies, requiring a good amount of reading to decypher whatever it is that the question will ask of you.
Microsoft question (from the Microsoft Skills Assessment - Managing the Deployment of Service Packs and Security Updates):
quote: You are the network administrator for a company with six regional offices in North America and a total user population of approximately 1,000. You have been asked to implement a mechanism that will ensure all computer systems are up to date with security patches and that new security patches and software updates can be deployed in a consistent and timely manner with as little manual effort as possible.
The client computer systems run a combination of Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000 Professional and Windows XP. The server computer systems run a combination of Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003 in an Active Directory(R) environment of a single domain, in a single tree, in a single forest.
The company does not currently own or employ any software distribution application that might be used to meet this requirement. You need to get a solution in place quickly without building an extensive infrastructure to support it. You need to be able to deploy updates for Windows, Microsoft Office, and some third-party applications.
What is the best option for the company?
A Install Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) on a single dedicated server in the corporate headquarters.
B Install Microsoft Software Update Services on a member server in the corporate headquarters and configure all client computers to perform automatic updates from this server.
C Install Microsoft Software Update Services on a member server in the corporate headquarters and use Group Policy to control the distribution of updates.
D Install Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) in a hierarchical design with one primary server in the corporate headquarters and secondary servers in each of the other five locations.
Cheers,
