| Hey folks,
I would like to hear what each of you have or currently using to prepare for the 70-270 Windows XP Pro exam.
I would like to know the likes and dis-likes of the book. That means the writing style of the author, accuracy of the material for the exam, does it have lab exercises, errata information for corrections posted on the web, usefulness and any other comments you care to make toward the book(s) including whether it helped you pass or fail the exam!
The book that we choose will likely be used by eight(8) people in our study group and some of us do not have the financial resourses to buy several books and what not. Unfortunately, the reviews on Amazon.com does not make our selection easy and so I ask those of you who have walked this path before us.
Thanks in advance,
Doug | |

| I used the following study resources:
MS Press Windows XP study Guide - good, but not enough detail.
MS Press Windows XP Resource Kit - enough information to melt your brain, but very helpful
Cramsession XP Study Guide - nicely summarises the curriculum
Test software from http://www.selftestsoftware.com - the best testing software I have come across.
Hope this helps | |

| I'm not sure about the other (2) books mentioned, however, I'm not sure if I'd go with the Cram Session series for this exam. Just pages into the book I found what I think is incorrect about Cd-rom installation. The last sentence in the paragraph states: "Unlike Winodws NT, Windows XP supports only Intel-based computers". Now how flase is that?!?!?! | |

| i'm using the Exam Cram2 book, i find that the book is well summarized, really straight to the point, but i think you have to at least be a intermediate Windows XP user if this is the only book you are going to use.......and it also provied details for you to hands on the OS,......i'm on chpater 4 now, i think i'm understand the stuff so far, except the RIS that i can't test it for myself, since i don't have all the stuff configured.
i'm really tight in budget, and i don't like big books, that's why i bought this book, and it has good review from Amazon | |
