Is there a way to add the printer once to a machine and have it all users that log on be able to access it w/o having to add to each user's login? Im thinking right off hand that this can only be accomplished via login script but just curious if anyone knew of another way around this? thanks.

Create one Profile whit all the printer that you want rename the profile to Default User.

If you add a local printer, which could be USB, LPTx, or Standard IP Port, the printer will be available to all profiles.

If you want a network printer (shared from another computer) to be available to all profiles, then do as Shiryu suggested. However, I would copy the profile to the Default User profile, rather than rename it.

Hope that helps.

Will this work after other profiles have already been created on a PC? Could this also be applied to the All Users profile or would that wipe out everything in the All Users profile once copied?

Right, you would not want to do that to All Users. For existing profiles, they will not pick up on anything you apply to Default User - that profile is what NEW profiles use to get their initial settings. However, if it's a local printer (which does include Standard IP Port), that will be available to all existing profiles and new profiles after you create it.

OK so I guess the best solution for profiles that have already been added is to add the printer via a logon script command?
