Author can 70-270 be used as an elective also?

I have passed 6 of the 7 needed tests and I cannot find anything about this on the M$ website.

Can 70-270 be used as an elective as well as a core? I passed 210 last year (My first test) and thought about going after this one next to finish up the MCSE.

Thanks folks!

I have also looked into this. I took 70-210 in late 2001 and 70-270 last October. After passing, I looked into this because it seems like MS would offer this as an elective, but they clearly don't, according to the MCSE requirements (http://www.microsoft.com/traincert/...equirements.asp).

I wish they would reconsider. But all is not lost, I still believe it makes me more marketable, even though it does not further my certification status.

I don't believe you can take both 70-210 and 70-270 and have them count toward MCSE 2000. I believe it's one or the other. But the fact that you took both may not be a waste of time. Microsoft will be splitting the Windows 2003 MCSE off from the 2000 MCSE. With any luck you'll be able to count 70-270 toward the 2003 MCSE.

Isn't that what I just tried to say? I even included the MS web link that specifies what the requirements for MCSE 2000 are, which don't include the XP exam.
