| Im running XP Pro and when i run an update from windowsupdate.com and i install it it puts it in my add/remove programs list - does this mean everytime i install an update its goin to go in there - if so, later down the road thats going to have alot of things in it - also if i uninstall every one except the last one will it be ok or does it uninstall the previous things? sorry such a confusing question! | |

| Am I being thick here, but isn't this what 2000 does already does? You go to Add/remove progs and it shows all the Hotfixes that you've installed and downloaded? | |

| Ah Ok,
In which case I hadn't missed what you're getting at. Well, 2000 also puts all the updates into Add/ remove progs. I think the theory is so that you could remove a hotfix if you start having problems with it. Not sure I would ever want to do that and trust it afterwards.
Over the lifetime of using 2000 I got quite a few updates and hotfixes showing but not sure it reached a point where I thought it could be a problem. I actually appreciated the fact that I could quickly check what hotfixes had been installed. The Windows update site can be fooled as to what you have applied to a machine and so cant be considered authoratative | |
