| hi there
I have the 70-224 this Friday, I have used the cramsession doc and the sybex book. Any last minutes hint or tips from you guys?
I am still having problems with the Routing group connectors and upgrading from 5.5 to 2k, is there any sites with good explanations of these on?
thanks in advance

| I would expect to get hammered on upgrade questions. That and backup and recovery. It's been a while since I studied for this one, but MS is the best source for thousands of pages of docs on these subjects. Make sure to review the exam objectives on the MS site as well. | |

| I have now printed several MS white papers out, thanks for that.

| took the exam this morning and failed.
I need to brush up on server growth and restoring servers.
I found the questions quite ambiguous and the answers even worse.
I am hoping to reschedule in the next few weeks...

| Sorry to hear that. I have prepared for this one, but have not taken it yet, as there were so many beta exams for Server 2003 that I could participate in.
Let's go over where you are at:
What prep have you done: book(s), labs, practice exams, etc.?
Have you checked off the exam objectives from the Microsoft site?
Try going through the course description from the Microsoft site. This might take a couple of weeks, but it should walk you through everything you should know.
Check for How-To guides on the Microsoft site for specific items that you want to work through.
Check certcities. com under 'practice exams' for a list of a wide variety of downloadable trials and online practice tests, all free and legit materials. You should be able to cobble together several hundred pactice questions from the resources listed there, that will give you a little better insight.
It is a disappointment to lose an exam fee, I've done it myself. But take it as an opportunity to really get to know more about this vital part of business communications. Exchange admins have to be nails, there is no guess work or trial and error, because your organization will tolerate about ZERO minutes out of the year without email. I have heard horror stories such as a local school district here whose email was down for almost a week during the SoBig crisis.
Good Luck! | |

Study Guides: Sybex, MOC, and Cramsession document
Exam prep software:Boson Test Engine
I printed the MS Objectives and thought yesterday that I understood each of the entries. But some of the questions I got related to server recovery that wasn't mentioned in either of books.
I have now got the MS Press 70-224 book from a friend, hopefully that will provide enlightenment.
So my first ports of call are:-
Routing Group connectors
Monitoring servers and message connectivity
Server Growth
Restoring systems ( I will be checking the MS site tonight for more on this )
On a more positive note, I got 100% for the installing and upgrading , configuring server and managing recipient objects sections.
So I can install and configure Exchange just not support it when it goes wrong!

| Sounds like you are in good shape to beat this one after a bit of retooling. Keep us posted. Good Luck! | |

| I found the MS Press book for the 224 very helpful.
Also used the Transcender Practice Test.
You really need to set up a lab and do some hands on.
224 is a bit tougher to grasp for some because it is an application so there is a slight shift in perspective.
