Can i do this exam 70-224?

| Hi,
I want to do this exam as an elective for my MCSE. However I have never used exchange(any version) in my life.
Also:
-I want to do it now, because many jobs ask for Exchange knowledge and i am looking for jobs at the moment.
-I have done 210,215 & 218 but nothing else
-I have only 1 server and a client PC at home
I plan to do this at home, self study with a good book or two. I plan to study for a month or so.
My question is. Can i do it or is this exam too hard and should i have experience. Many people go 70-221 but i think the exchange track has more value.
Please reply. | |

| nero64,
Hey dude just go for it. I am studying this exam and have no experience of Exchange (I have always supported Lotus Notes). I would say that you really need another PC - to use as a server.
I think if you study really hard this exam may be possible in a month, but I am planning to take at least 3 months because practical experience is important. | |

| I have just been reading some posts on this board. So basically you have to have an NT server running Exchange 5.5 and then migrate to 2000. I would need to know 5.5 well and maybe have an NT server and 2000 server running. I think it would be good to do and if i had a job i would go this path but i think i will do 221 because it will save me a month or so and maybe a lot of grief.
Thanks for the replies | |

| I regret having not taken this for my MCSE, so much so that I am taking it now, even though I will get no new cert for it.
There are no pure MCSE jobs, you have to be able to provide an organization with practical experience in things outside of O/S, AD and networking.
Guess what, first NT 4.0 domain you go to upgrade to 200x, you will run into Exchange. Exchange makes it easier to migrate, in a lot of ways if you know what to do. |
