Where do you find if SMTP forwarding is enabled

Hello all

I need some help please. I install digital copiers with scan to email options.
I am having trouble with a site using Exchange 2000. I won't bore you with the details but the copier needs to send to a email server that is "SMTP forwarding enabled". What I need to know is how do you find out if this option is enabled on the server?
