| Can you guys tell me which book is good for Linux+? how is exam cram? what about the all-in-one guide? is linux+ a easy exam? thanks! | |

| Not too difficult. Experience with the O/S will help more than anyhing else. I don't know that I would trust any Linux+ study guide. Just get the exam objectives from CompTIA and use them as an outline to study. I used and liked this book:
Linux Administration: A Beginner's Guide

| ExamCram is great for this test. It really helped me a lot. There was a .pdf out there that was just as good - expect free - but it no longer exists unfortunately. | |

| how come the 3rd edition has only 484 pages, and the 2nd edition has 643 pages? is the 3rd edtion covers less stuffs, or less details? what about the <Red Hat Linux Administration: A Beginner's Guide>? it's also written by Steve Shah, is this new edtion better? eventhough it has less pages? | |

| I can't say anything about the 3rd ed. I've never seen it. The 2nd ed. was great. Look for a copy on eBay. You can probably pick it up cheap. It is a great book for the newbie. It is a good prep for the Linux+ exam.

That's funny, I didn't notice the errors. Considering the 3rd edition is by a different author might explain the difference in pages. I found the 2nd edition quite good and more than sufficient to pass the Linux+ exam. You can pick up a copy for as little as $5.69 at Amazon. Includes RH7 on CD. |
