Not too difficult. Experience with the O/S will help more than anyhing else. I don't know that I would trust any Linux+ study guide. Just get the exam objectives from CompTIA and use them as an outline to study. I used and liked this book:

Linux Administration: A Beginner's Guide

ExamCram is great for this test. It really helped me a lot. There was a .pdf out there that was just as good - expect free - but it no longer exists unfortunately.

how come the 3rd edition has only 484 pages, and the 2nd edition has 643 pages? is the 3rd edtion covers less stuffs, or less details? what about the <Red Hat Linux Administration: A Beginner's Guide>? it's also written by Steve Shah, is this new edtion better? eventhough it has less pages?

I can't say anything about the 3rd ed. I've never seen it. The 2nd ed. was great. Look for a copy on eBay. You can probably pick it up cheap. It is a great book for the newbie. It is a good prep for the Linux+ exam.

As low as $5.83 for Like New cond. on Amazon.

They had to cut out all of the errors.

That's funny, I didn't notice the errors. Considering the 3rd edition is by a different author might explain the difference in pages. I found the 2nd edition quite good and more than sufficient to pass the Linux+ exam. You can pick up a copy for as little as $5.69 at Amazon. Includes RH7 on CD.
