Which one is better to take?
I know that CIW Foundation can be sub by I-NET+. What are the pro and cons? Anyone?

TIA!

I have heard it said that the i-Net+ is a little easier than CIW. If you are planning on continuing in the CIW track (admin, design, enterprise developer), then I would stick with CIW. If you plan to stop with the CIW foundation, I would go i-Net+..

Prosoft Training owns the CIW job-role certification program.

i-Net+ is vendor neutral.

I took both. I think they were both equal in difficulty.

Thanks guys, based on this, I guess I will go with the CIW.

I did my fair share of research on this Twister and I know what you're feeling. Like what SuperTech mentioned already, if you're not planning to pursue any of the higher CIW tracks, then go with i-Net+ for CompTIA recognition. CIW name may be well-known later, but right now, CompTIA.

However, if you like some of the tracks CIW is offering, start with foundations and go from there. I may pursue their Administrator track later on. And I like the fact that my i-Net+ cert will transfer over for CIW-A status for $95 if and when I do decide to start a CIW track. This is obviously not future proof if ProSoft decides to change their transfer policy.

I'd recommend picking up the CIW Foundations for Dummies book. Easy read and should give you everything you'll need to know for the exam. Or you could always pick up i-Net+ Study Guide by Groth from Sybex since they pretty much cover the same materials. G'luck!

Namrak,

Thank you for the information, scholar and a gentelmam!

Not too sure exact where I am going yet, but I will think about which one in a few weeks...
