HEllo everybody,
I was wondering how much a CTT+ trainer makes. I realize it varies but does anyone have a ball park generaliztion for salary with someone with CTT+, A+, Network+,i-Net+, CIW XXX. I have A+, NEtwork+, and i-NEt+, CIW XXX. and am now working on CTT+ and I am trying to figure out a salary range. I am currently teaching A+, a few days a week for $20.00 an hr. The company I work for wants me to go full time. What do I ask for? 40,000 or 50,000? a year? It may involve some travel a few days a week a couple of hrs. from here. I don't want to go full time until I have my CTT+ I told them. What do I ask for if I achieve my CTT+ in a few months as hopefully ....I am aiming for IF all goes as planned.I have heard it is more valuable and even a little better respected than MCT. IS this true? IF
I appreciate you guys taking time to
read this I know it's kinda long.

Well, it depends where you live first, and second the other certifications you hold. While it is true it is a highly respected credential and can be used by 10 or so companies versus MCT's 1 or maybe 2, says volumes to me. $40-50K per year for a beginning teacher is not a bad way to go, but questions I would ask are: How many classes and of what? then calculate what your pay raise would be from what you currently make. I taught A+ and Net+ and had alot of experience and the market rate was about $30 an hour in CA. Now if you have a BS degree, the best place to go is a junior college where it is $40 and hour. Same situation as a MCT teaching Windows 2000 in a MCSA or MCSE track - $50-70 per hour. Highly experienced or corporate training? Could be even higher. Teaching Cisco is less than M$ imho, and CIW is unknown to me from a teaching perspective. Security is where the money is and will be for some time, but without experience forget it imho. Hope this gives you some food for thought.
