| I'm using Information Technology Project Management, 2nd Edition by Kath Schwalbe. There is an examguide with hundreds of questions and answers to study from that can be purchased also.

| I passed the IT Project+ yesterday. A hard and vague exam. For practice quizes I recommend Exam Essentials. It was very close to the real exam in the phrasing of questions and type of questions. I had 2 questions on formulas, EV, PV, BCWS/BCWP, etc. Lot of questions on scope, WBS, Gannt, critical path, and ...as a PM what would be the best course of action. Very tough! 84 questions. Took me an hour to complete it.
I used EE, kathy Scwab examprep book, Measureup.com web site, but most of the questions were so close to EE it was scary.
Good luck to everyone. | |

| Thanks ReoDon for the tips. Will be taking it end of the year. Currently using the Osborne IT PM book for the study. Find it quite useful. And also reading the XXXXXXXXXXX PM as well.
Will post more after taking the exam. Stay tune ! | |

| We do have exam notes for Project+ exam right on this site.
Here it is | |

| Measureup.com is very expensive! The book of Information Technology Project Management is more reasonable. Examnotes is a good reference as well.
Anyway, Thanks your help!

| I passed the IT-Project+ exam last night. This exam is not an easy pass. It took me one hour to finish. The questions were vague and badly worded and so were many of the answer choices. Read them carefully and take your time, you are given 2 hours to complete the exam.
You will definitely need the following to help you pass:
1. Exam Essentials
2. Sybex IT Project+ Study Guide
3. Examprep by Cathy Schwalbe
Learn the following inside and out:
1. Phases of dispute resolution
2. Essential components of project scope, project charter.
3. Definitions/formulas of EV,SV,BCWP,BCWS,ACWP, SPI,CPI.
3. Definition and responsibilities of project manager, sponsor, stakeholders.
4. Project team issues relating to overtime, working from home, etc...
5. Most of all, remember that the project manager must always get sponsor approval before making any changes to the project scope.
Good Luck! | |

| Just a research. How many hours have you used to prepare the IT Project+ Exam?
Regards,
Ian | |
| Rosetower 2002-12-23, 11:25 pm |
| 2 hours per day 5 days a week for about 6 weeks. | |
| Ian Poon 2002-12-24, 11:51 am |
| 60 hours to prepare is reasonable. Thanks! | |

| Rosetower's experience has been similar to mine, and I would agree on the study material. Really I could have used a bit more than 60 hours myself, but I certainly think it's doable. Study hard, it's a toughie. |
