Was thinking of going for the Linux+ cert but i haven't used Linux much for about 4 years.

I have The plain Linux Bible with the 7.1 RED hat edition. Have installed it but am a bit of a novice. I started first 100 pages or so then lost interest or became busy. I have Forgotten all main commands.

Not too many books on the Linux+ cert available from Amazon. The Linux+ bible gets 4.5 stars. What are some good linux forums related to the cert.

So should i go for it or stay with the MCSA track? I only need one book that starts at the basics and i reckon i could pass it.

The Linux+ will probably be one of the easiest tests that you take. Keep in mind about 1/4 of the test is nothing but hardware, much the same as you would have seen on the A+. The rest of the test seems geared to newbies. You need to know your important commands, how to use vi, the basics of the file systems, where certain key files are located and so on. How to administer the system, and readlogs and install, uninstall packages. It seems specifically geared to the newbie.

If you are interested in MS products, MCSA seems a good place to start.
