| The Nokia box is another option to use for installing Checkpoint. The Nokia boxes run a version of Unix called IPSO that comes preharded by Nokia and has Checkpoint preinstalled. The Nokia boxes are also routers. They are almost the same thing as a PC but are quicker to install and set up. For example if you are going to install Checkpoint on an NT box you would first have to buy the equipment (about $2000-$5000) then you would have to buy NT Server ($800) and then you would have to install it and harden the box (this could take up to 8 hours). This is time consuming and if you are a consultant, your client will be spending more on labor. With the Nokia box you buy it for about $5000 and it takes 10 minutes to set up and to get Checkpoint running. Plus Nokia's support is way better than Checkpoint, and they will help you on any Checkpoint questions. | |

| You should also check out intrusion.com, they got some nice fw-1 appliance. I've seen them in action and they are very nice. | |
