hello: i'm new to Solaris. i just bought an Ultra 60, Elite 3D, but it doesn't have a video card. i need to install Solaris 8 on this system, but don't know how to do it via the network.

i understand that there's a way to install solaris 8 by connecting through the network. i have two ultra 10 systems that i just installed.

i appreciate if anyone can help me install a fresh copy of solaris 8 on my Ultra 60 machine via the network or if you know a better way, let me know as well.

fyi. i don't have the root password for the Ultra 60 and i don't even know what ip address(es) are on this machine. telnet obviously does not work in this situation.

Please use Windows Hyper Terminal.
Connect your PC's serial port to Ultra 60's serial port.
Then you can boot from cdrom and install Solaris 9 through Hyper Terminal.
