| OK, you are going to crack yourself up with this, but what is the fastest way to learn to most Sun Solaris in the shortest time?
I know it's silly, but it is pretty usrgent.
Thanks

| find a used sparc box, get solaris 9, install it and go for it. maybe a certification book that has lots of exercises would be good as well. If you learn to do each function on the exam objectives, you will learn quick. You can be amazed at what you can learn in a weekend when you actually have equipment to play on. | |
|
| Totally agree with both thumbs up.
Practise will make you a perfect person.

| You can also install Solaris 9 on the x86 platform.
If you don't have the software, you can buy it here:
http://www.sun-catalogue.com/partpr...d=5160&id=10524
Hopefully, the link will work. Note: it's Sun's South Africa online store.

| Also, check out Sun's licensing policies before you go buying any software. | |
|
| For learning wise, you can go to sun website, either download or buy the CD for Solaris intel version 9. But, you need to pay for download or the CD.
The intel version 9 can be install on normal PC, except, you can't use the boot command. Get the offical student guide book, practise, understand and remember all the commands. From there, you would'nt have any problem using the Sun unix commands and administration tools.
Good luck in your learning.
