| Is there any place I could find information as to the validity of Solaris 7? Till when is the certification valid, not withdrawn for exam? Anyone tried preparing based on 7 but took the 8. Could this path be taken? I have found several book on Solaris 8 on the Amazon but none is published yet.
 Any info from anyone is appreciated in determining my action path. | |

| Called SUN and was told that there is no indication of Solaris 7 expiring. Even the 2.6 certified SCSA is still valid. Any differing opinion on this, kindly share it.

| Hi,
Once upon a time I have fallen into dilemma that I have many studying materials for Solaris 7 exam and I can learn more when I decided to take Solaris 8 exam.
My opinion is: take the updated exam if possible. You can definitely learn much more than previous version of examination.
Now I am preparing for my SCSA part I for Solaris 8. However, I find no book for my reference. I join the yahoo's solaris certification group and in the group I find a complete student reference for SA-238, SA-288 (correspond to part I & II exam). At the same time, I also take a reference for ExamCram for Solaris 7. I find the Solaris 8 exam covers all version 7's main points and so you will learn a lot after you finish your Solaris 8 exam. | |

Could you please tell me the full name of the Yahoo group you found the complete student reference for SA-238, SA-288 in? Also, which post within that group?

| Go to www.amazon.com and search for Solaris 8. There are about 5 certification guide books. One of my staff order the Exam Prep which is $60. All five books are yet to be published. The Exam Prep version is supposed to be published on the 15th Jul but on the cart does not indicate so.
