| Went to a VUE center this morning and sat the 70-300.
3 cases, 30 questions. End of exam did not give a numeric score. I passed.
This makes 5 for 5, passed on first sitting and I'm now an MCSD for .NET.
Next up is MCDBA... | |

| Know the material. Since you're working on VB.NET I'd suggest you get a copy of programming Visual Basic .NET by Balena. It's brutal, at alomst 1600 pages, but the author writes well. It's the best single book I've seen yet on .NET and is complete enough that it covers substantial parts of all 3 language exams.
Personally, I completed this book plus 10 more on .NET alone, plus another 2 on SQL Server 2000 -on top of working with SQL Server since 1997.
You really need to know ADO.NET for all 3 exams. Testing/debugging, listeners, event handlers, installing, deploying & configuring. You need to know the material.
Also, get a drill on some practise exams. The Microsoft books come with practise exams which aren't quite like the real thing but will help you drill the material. I didn't buy any Transcender exams, but I have downloaded a couple of their demos which give you about 10 questions. From what I've seen, the nature of these questions is very relevant to the real exams, so at least get the demos and use them.
You can buy exam vouchers here:
www.ExamVouchers.com
for $115. I bought 2 last week & used them, went just fine. They also sell seriously discounted voucher/Tanscender bundles that will save you serious money if you decide to buy Transcender material.
I don't any affiliation with the site. It was recommended to me a couple weeks ago. | |
