Microsoft are introducing a new MCSD certification in early 2002 and a new Administrator certification.

This raises immediate questions for those studying now - will 70-100 be retired? what about the VB6 exams with the introduction of .NET?

Does anyone have an insight into what exams will be retired, or what ones are worth continuing with?

From my understanding, the new developer cert will NOT replace the MCSD. It is another cert that is more concentrated on what developers do everyday. Thing is, with my MCSD, all the stuff i learned about database schemas, architecture design and VB components I use daily - not just bangin out code.this is from that link you provided : "Candidates for the new developer credential analyze and define user requirements to a lesser extent than do candidates for the MCSD certification. The new developer certification will not include high-level design skills." Im seeing this as a watered down version of the MCSD. Now as for retiring the 70-100, well, all things come to an end. The .NOT stuff will be coming but the same focus will still be there - design and architecture - but with the .NOT architecture and VB.NOT tests.
