| Hi myonker,
When I first started work, I got a job with EDS here in the UK.
I was fortunate in that they sent me on a 4-week course in VB.
What are your prospects for getting work-related training with EDS? Do you have a career plan that you discuss with your manager and perhaps you could get some actions on there for them to send you on training courses?
If not, there are some great self-study resources on the internet.
Perhaps you would post some more details of what field you hope to move into.

| start with the basics - build your foundation for what you need in order to be a good programmer. slangin code isnt what it's all about. as a consultant, do you think i just slang code? no, i must analyze the problem and choose a method for solving the problem, then lastly - use the resources [programming langauges, databases, networking, etc] to implement a solution to the problem. problem solving is what it's about. coding is just syntax, solving the problem is the key. there are many books out there that can help you start down your path. |
