I need ideas with designing a Year Planner

| I'm trying to disign a Year Planner for staff members in my organisation.
The Year Planner should be able to indicate, if one selects a date to apply for leave, that the particular date has been selected by someone.
Also the Year Planner should be able to show all those who have taken some days for leave.
My problem is i can not come up with a logic for this Year Planner, i don't what fields i should put in my form. I only have; Name of Employer and Calender fields.

| whats the general reason for the planner?
just to monitor annual leave?
have you already developed an interface for it? Have you decided if it will display only one month at a time or whatever?

| This Year Planner is to monitor annual leave so that not more than two staff members are out on leave on the same day.
The Year Planner should display two months at a time and have navigation buttons to navigate to the prev. or next months.
on a particular month, it should display the name of anyone on leave from the start date till end date of the leave.
I do not have an interface yet. i have no idea yet as to the design of the form, what to include and what not to include. | |

| you have an MCSD and you cant design a yearly calendar with functionality? did i miss something here? there is this thing called analysis and design - everyone that i know that has a CS degree has to take this class. (maybe you dont have a CS degree - not that it matters) im not raggin on ya, but come on now, try applying some of that knowledge you've gained to solve this problem yourself. | |

| Thanx a lot hard_coder, u are quite helpful. I don't have a CS degree, i only have a diploma in Software Development, I've just started MCSD (70-176) i haven't written my first exam. This is just an assignment for my organisation.
I just wanted some assistance/ideas, if u feel u can't, thank you, but i would have loved for u to assist.
