| After starting my studies unoficially 15 months ago and many delays due to job/money reasons, I finally passed the distributed exam today. I got a 928 - LOL. I think there's such a thing as too much studying. After a certain point, you really do have to say f*** it and book your test. If you wait until you feel you're ready, you'll never feel ready.
Next up is 176 in a couple weeks, then the dreaded 70-100 and that's all. Anybody have any tips on how 176 differs from 175? I've heard there is more Package & Deployment stuff, and less COM/MTS focus.
Thanks so much for your book Cassie. It really made all the difference for me getting the most out of my last two weeks of prep time. I highly recommend it

| Congrats... | |
|
| congrats!!!!
can't wait till i can say the same........
btw, is there any particular reason you took the distributed exam first? Did you use transcenders? Did you develop a lot of your own projects to get practice with different technologies?
sorry for all of the questions, but i'm just really curious as i'll probably be taking my exam soon....... its hard to know when you've studied enough with these exams.
thanx

| Good effort!
I think you'll find 70-176 easier (don't let that affect how much you study though! ), you shouldn't find anything in 176 that wasn't covered by 175, the only differences will be the emphasis placed on P&D and a few other minor topics.
You should fly through - best of luck.

| Congratulation to you!!!

Why did you took distirbuted first I thought it would be much easier if you took the desktop first?
Anyway, Congratulation and more power!!!

| Thanks all. I chose the distributed exam first because my VB background was COM components through ASP. My real weakness is desktop development, so I thought I could pick up the flavor for the test while postponing the painful stuff For the distributed test, I found the Transcender to be great. I only spent a few days on it but it was a massive help. I'm going for 176 this Saturday - had to postpone a little longer then I had wished. I hope I have my comboboxes and list views straight. |
