| and then take the time you would've spent preparing for CIW and devote it to developing an actual working site and burn it on CD, put it on the internet and include the URL on your resume...
all of which is more useful than a CIW certified designation. | |

| agreed with mikop. why the hell you want to waste money on a web design cert. all you need is a kick XXX web page and send the employer to it. | |

| I agree, do a web design project and burn it to disk to use as your portfolio. This is infintely prefrable to certs because then you'll have an actual finished product instead of just some papers saying you are supposed to know how to do it. Show them what you can do, and it'll be worth more than a whole roomful of paper. | |

| Design = creative...! Can't be measure by certification, but CIW is good to have on technical perspective.... however experience overrule everything | |

| Prosoft's CIW is alright I hear as far as web design. It might be a little old, the Macromedia certificate might be better. But those of you that just think portfolio is good enough, then sure feel that way. I will get all the jobs with my portfolio and certifications. |
