| Notice the article doesn't mention those jobs will stay in the US.
They are the fastest growing among US companies, but the US companies are sending over half those jobs overseas.
The news should be good news for techies in Europe and India. | |

| The BLS is notorious for incorrect projections. In 2000, it projected that there would be an insatiable demand for IT skills for years to come. We all know what really happened. | |

| well in my neighborhood, to say anything is the fastest growing job just aint sayin a whole lot.
in fact, the fastest growing job category around here may simply be the SLOWEST shrinking job category.
read the papers and it is hard to believe that the nursing field or medical tech job isnt growing faster. | |

| The sad truth is that not is outsourcing taking a huge bita out of the IT industry, but alot of the top names in the field are recruiting workers INTO the US from other countries.
The bottom line is that companies are now refusing employment to the highest qualified candidates to bolster the bottom line.
Many of the ads on-line are phony and placed by organizations who profit from the continued myth that things are swell in the IT industry.
I continue to certify and spend countless hours a week researching. Lately the NIST 800 standards have been the order of my days.
I don't look for much to change soon.
One reason is because many companies are still employing keyboard cowboys who haven't certified in anything and aren't about to hire those who have. Its a job security thing. If they hire anyone who knows what they should but do not then they are placing their own job or promotion at risk.
That the companies invariably end up paying much more for this does not seem to upset them because they keep on allowing individuals who have no intentions of spending a few hours each nigh keeping pace with anything. | |

The Feds are the worst about the latter. And you wonder where your taxes are going? Its simple when you consider that they refuse to hire anybody with reasonable qualifications in anything. But then the IT contractors are making a killing and charging far more then what it would cost of the feds would just get their hiring act together. |
