Need to study more exams but can't concentrate on study? Need suggestion folks

| Hello Everybody,
I need your advice/suggestion in this serious matter. I can not concentrate
properly in my studies. I have some cisco exams pending which i need to finish as soon as possible but because of carelessness,
interest in TV/sports and other big tentions in life i can't concentrate on my study though i know those exams are very important to enhance my carrier and want to finish them quickly. I am in my early 20s.
When i started my carrier 4 & half years back, i used to study 15+ hours in a day. Some exams i had passed with just 1 or 2 weeks full time study with experience and hands on lab(with out dumps). I have good job and i am not worry to lose my job but getting some more certs will advance my carrier. Sometimes i don't even like reading technical docs for my job tasks also.
I also usually forget "things/work to do" but now i am trying to overcome this problem by writting notes. And whenever i start a job task i use my full energy to finish this task as soon as possible(no patience at all) though i am little bit careless and i always try to do MULTIPLE tasks at the same time in order to save time(no patience)Anybody over here face any issue like this ? | As long as it pays the bills and puts food on the da table you've got to find the motivation. I know what you kind of mean but lets face it life ain't easy just take the bull by the horn. Best of wishes in your career | |

| Do you have stress in your life with your job. If so, you might want to take some vacation time and spend some time with family and friends. That might help. | |

| Sounds to me you're burning out on cert studies, which by the way, most everyone does go through at one time or another. Very simple, time to remove yourself for awhile from studying.
Normally, I would suggest that you try to balance out your studying with other activities (going out with friends, active in sports, etc) but it looks like you've already added that. However, you may have taken to the other activities a bit too much to the detriment of your cert studies.
Reschedule your exams at a much later date and take a break. It looks as if 80% of your brain is telling this message. Or you could bulldog your way through your studies and take a chance. Good luck either way. | |

First, it's very easy to spot fake certs since the original have a tracking "Career ID number". Then people can look up the name + where you did the test etc.
I have about three years of working experience from support and networking. I worked really hard for my A+ cert and it cost me a fortune with books and so.
Secondly, it will be very easy to "find out" if you are a fake on the job. Your boss ask you questions and tell you to this and that. You don't have a clue - kind of obvious you cheated.
Third, you don't forget the stuff you studied after you have passed A+. Since the exams are so complex you must know it in your sleep.....that way you'll remember it for a LONG time.
Honesty is no 1 for me!

i would have to agree with cosmocat here, paer certs ruins the credibility of IT profesionals undertaking the likes of MCSE. Personally i prefer doing it the hard way.
Reading it undertanding it and implementing it time and time again until you are confident with what you are doing? I feel very strongly about this issue, at the end of the day your future boss can tell from the way you work if your a paper cert or not.
As i remember the saying when i used to go to school "cheats never prosper", its not worth the risk. | |

I see that you are from Birmingham in England. My girlfriend used to live there working for Sandvik Systems Development. She then moved back to Sweden working for the same company.
I visited twice (Halesowen) and really liked Birmingham. How is the job situation there now for PC-support/networking jobs? Did you have a problem to get a job in Birmingham? Have thought about working abroad if the right job will show up. Birmingham would be cool!

I am not far from halesowen i like in Oldbury, problem with Birnmingham is that there is not much in terms of IT work, i work in a secondary school in Birmingham as an IT Technician as well as trying to study for my MCSE which is not very easy, those Microsoft press books !Mamma Mia! reparse points? windows 2000 executive e.t.c not easy to understand.
I am hoping to move to brussels eventually i was offered a position there as a support network Technician but unfortunately the start date was 2 weeks later not enough time to plan my move. Hopefully other positions will come up, of that i am certain.

Mamma Mia! - I know that since I have the Win 2000 pro book from Microsoft press. I needed a more easy and not so boring book to start with, so I bought the one from Sybex:

| Taine i don't use these kinds of practice tests. Because i don't want someone calling me paper cert. I rely on books, experience and lab because i wana be real expert in the industry. Do you have some better advice other then this ? |
