Can anyone tell me which would be a better path-CIW or DBA certs? It seems the web design careerplace is saturated and newer software enables even non-tech folks to create and administrate dynamic sites. Is there a future in Web Design/Development, or are the CIW certs fazing out? Would a Database (Oracle or Microsoft) cert be a better investment?

I appreciate any ideas or thoughts...

CIW give you general idea on how to manage and design a website... however, experience as webmaster, web developer, programmer are needed to land a good job.

Oracle, Microsoft always needed people, but experience is everything.

IBM Websphere, Peoplesoft, ... a lot of job need DBA.
