| Well, hard work finally paying off
I got a job as a Jr. Network Admin for a company with ~300 users in 4 or 5 different locations (1 main and the others have about 10 users).
I have my certs listed to the left and about 2yrs on the job experience mostly working on the box and basic network stuff but a n00b to network admin outside a lab so this is big for me.
$9 an hour to start and I'm very happy with that. I haven't had a real computer job since last October.
I'm taking my 218 test in 2 weeks too; completing my MCSA should be a nice thing for a new employer to see. I won't have all the free time to study that I used to so my cert studies may slow down a bit but that’s ok, I'll actually be getting real experience! | |

| Congrats on the job man. Just be glad you managed to find job doing somthing you enjoy. I just found a job as tech making $9/hr but I am as happy as I anyone can be. Maybe people like us who found some entry level type jobs(although I know you have 2yrs exp) will raise peoples morale a bit who are looking for work. I mean come on people if I could get a job then everyone has hope. Well congrats again. Where you from exactly? | |

| Well done. Hang in there, learn what you can and put yourself in a position to vault into a new position when it eventually comes up. Nothing wrong with that man. I admire it. | |

| Just want to add my congrats too! I know what you mean by just being happy to have an IT job. I was out for 14 months before landing this $15 an hour contract to perm position. Become a full-time associate next month! All I can say is, do a good job in your current position and it will pay for itself. Good luck to you! | |

| Congrat, experience is all matter, PAY also important, but the most for entry level. | |

| The best job is the entry job, not becuse you get paid crap, the entry job is where you learn most of your Actually working experience. but $9 an hour is kinda low especially for the certs you have. But I know things are tough now and getting what you can is a higher priority. Good Luck | |

| Congratulations on getting a job within the industry. Many professionals have it tough right now as work is scarce, but persistence and positive attitude counts for alot.
I've had it rough myself for a year and have kept myself afloat with small contract jobs. I caught a break when a former supervisor of mine asked me to come in for an interview for a network job.
Good luck with your new job! |
