hey,
this ques is for all industry people.
Ill be giving my partA CIW soon and then later Im planning to get in web mastering field , wanted to know in these times how many people can get a decent job outta certificates.OR i.e Ill also be doing a graphics college diip or degree,will all these help...OR shouldn't I give CIW...

An English class would proably be a good start.

well said TW2001, I agree. Believe me CIW wouldn't do anything to you (Just kidding). I dont think their are many opportunities out there for CIW Certifications, I will say a degree will be alot better.

I think really building up your portfolio would be quite a good idea. Have you got a lot of abilities you'd like to show off currently? If you have a full portfolio (they don't need to be real websites) you'll at least have something to show potential clients. I'd try to get in designing a charities website (I've personally have a website running for a church organisation for 2 years now). Sure you don't make anything $ wise but just incase you need to show a potential employeer what you can do, you have experiance. I'm not a skilled web designer personally but if you varied the styles of webpages in your portfolio it would show your capable of doing a varity of things aswell.
