First off, I'm 28 about to be 29 in July and is not working.

I have a A.S in Computer Network Administration but no certs and never got a job, I grauduated in 99.

In November, I'm going after a certification in Health Information Technology in Medical Billing/Coding.

I plan on doing this for backup when I.T isn't currently doing well.

As for right now, I want to go to Tech School to get my CCNA/MCSE to see if I can get a job with that, my experience is none and my skills are outdated.

I have a small speech problem that prevents me from doing heavy phone contact which is why I'm not doing Helpdesk. I was hoping to jump into tech support for a company and not a call center, something in the lines of fixing one's computer when it goes bad or changing a keyboard, I know the pay is low but really don't care I just want to work.

What do you think? Will a CCNA/MSCE get me something like this and don't Tech Schools have lots of contacts to help out entry level students?

I live in Florida, South Florida.

Hydro,
How about volunteering. Look for a computers for learning oranization that referbishes pc's for schools and kid's that can't afford new pc. Also try the local school system to volunteer there.
As, for schooling for MCSE/CCNA, best bet is to learn it on your own with a learning lab or go back to Comunity collage to see if they offer the MCSE/CCNA program.

If your studdering is bad try the state reabilitation commision for asstiance.

Agree with previous post. You can be a bench tech if you can demonstrate the skills.

We have many in bench tech who are foriegners and can not be phone support (becasue of heavy accents) but they earn very nice pay.

Keep working and get some experoience, even if unpaid for now.
