Computers are human replacement

| Let's face it, computers are to replace humans. So many are unemployed since computers have become faster and more reliable. Why do people complain that there are no jobs in I.T? Simple answer is that computers have replaced the need for your services. Humans are not as efficient and fast as a computer. Humans are greedy for money. They think that the more certifications they have the more money they deserve. Paper for money. | |

| Its a good thing that the more certs you have, the more marketable you are, the more likely you'll get a job, and hence the happier you'll be.
Thats why a 4 year accredited university degree increases your chances of getting job, as does higher level certs, experience, and networking with the right people.

Well, when computers can install their own operating systems and software, network themselves and fix themselves when they break then there really won't be a need for for us. Until then stop living in The Matrix.

| I totally agree TK-421...
JackieChan, think about things before you say them. Computers may have replaced the need for some services hence cutting some jobs BUT at the same time created more jobs, computers need people to take care, maintain, support, upgrade, install, not to mention, the wealth of programmers who are employed now because of computers....
Yeah, Stop living in the matrix. LOL.

| Computer can only replace lower level work and position.
At the end, who creat them!!! WE ARE
When in charge, be in charge..

| Hi, i´m new around here.
Would like to say that this thing about computers taking over humans work and control the world arent something new.
I will NOT happen. Period.
Computers may manage to update themselves, upgrade/patch, do simple networking commands, and other automative stuff. But thats it.
There will always be a huge need for sysadmins, help desk, net admins, project people, programmers, developers etc...
I think that with all the advanced features and stuff that the future brings us, there will be more, not less need for IT people.
See, all these auto stuff that swithches, routers, servers, databases, storage do today and in the future, will be a help tool for sysadmins. But only if the sysadmins understand how everything works.
All equipment will need some sort of assistance and/or maintenance.
If you must change a router, the router must be changed by humans. Routers don``t jump off the rack and let another one get in place all by themselves. "the work arent done by itself"
Its all about the human touch, especially in IT. The equipment that makes the infrastructure is just tools and technology.
Servers don´t walk in on two legs, neither can they sit and explain to the boss why the e-mail client the company bought is a total waste of money.
People wants humans to fix their computers and network, because that way they have someone to yell (?) at if everything gets screwed up again.
People need a solid IT department that cares and are thrustworthy.
Computers will, quite frankly, never be thrustworthy. And neither do computers "care" about people.
IT personell care about the people they work for. Facts.
IT is all about the human touch. Without the humans, all that tech would be useless. Plain logic.
I hope everybody understands what the h*** i´m trying to say here...lol.....

| What do you call being replaced by a machine? "Mechanized" ? Back in 1998, when I was a telemetry tech at my hospital, they didn't want humans monitoring cardiac rhythms anymore, and we were replaced by these annoying pagers that beeped whenever a patient was scratching his/her XXX! Sad to say, the nurses become so desensitized by all the alarms coming from the pagers that they began to ignore all the "false" alarms coming from those pagers, and blindly went about their grueling tasks. Anyway, we had several incidences were patients died from heart attacks because nobody responded to those alarms or were too late to save them. When humans were in charge of monitoring for abnormal rhythms, the death rate was basically non-existant due to our fast and accurate responses. |
