| Which one do you think is better for entry level? I really want to get into Network Security. | |

| A+. This is more basic, and it contains stuff that you really should know. | |
|
| Thanks, I figured that.... So Security plus should be next correct? | |

| hydro, i would say do Network+ before security+ to get a basic understanding of networking. If you hope to achieve advanced certification in security, you will need to know a great deal more than what is covered in security+, and network+ will help you towards that goal. | |

| Go for A+ and Network+ first. They will provide the background knowledge to pass Security+.
I am studying for the Security+ exam (just picked up Mike Meyer's Security+ Passport), and see that many topics are covered in the Network+, and to a lesser extent, A+ certs. I think it's worth building a foundation first with A+ and Network+.
Good Luck

| Wildscribe, how do you like the Mike Meyer's Security+ passport so far? Do you think that you'll go with another source or two prior to attempting the exam? | |

| both are entry level, but you need to know the PC before anything else - go for "A+" | |

| What do you want to be? Security Professional or Security Auditor?
If you want to be a Security Professional, you should take the SANS certifications.
If you want to be a Security Auditor, you should take take the CISA or CISSP.
