Author certification logos in resume

still no job

Anyway. To the question - I have 3 certifications.

1. Where in the resume, would I place the logos? M$ says you have to place it in the lower-right or lower-left corner. My counseller says I have to place it in the top-right corner.

2. Is it ok to place all three or just the one that you think the employer wants to see the most?

3. Is it even a good idea to place your logos in your resume?

Can someone clear this up, please?

My counseller's told me the same thing so I followed their advice. Screw Microsoft.

I would place the major ones. Meaning no MCP.

I have my logos on my resume, it makes you stand out.

Keep in mind that you can have multiple versions of your resume, so depending on the job that you are aplying for you can have diferent logos and/or certifications listed.

I never recommend to put logo on resume, why need it. Also, keep it simple!!!

Totally agree. To me it is kind of, how to put it nicely, naïve. Of course if you are applying for a position in technology they already have in mind that you need certain certifications and the logo is not buying you anything.

Counselors in college are so clueless it's amazing. I remember them telling me to put my resume on either blue or creame tinted paper because it "makes you stand out".

hahahahaha

I don't think any logos should go on a resume unless ur applying for a graphic arts job.

for entry level, low level stuff, do not put logos.

logos can work... it has to be real impressive, and generally the format of the resume is not a 1 sheet resume, but more a portfolio.

A not to be named quad ccie or maybe 5 now, has/used to have? logos on his resume, he also included the logo of the companies he worked for. It is impressive tho.

but for most entry level job, they don't care... unless you will be personally recruited by a real head hunter, then putting logo would work against you.

paper wise, parchment/linen etc all work. it is not a taboo. and the fact of the matter is, in this day and age where your resume is stuck with 500 others, being rediculous may work...

imagine you are a HR manager and you have in front of you a stack of 300 resume, all white... and in between there is this BRIGHT RED (exaggerating here :P ) paper... since you are so sick of reading, you thought, heh what freak would do this? you pull it out of a stack and you either
1) hmmmm nice impressive resume.
or
2) rofl all the while screaming "WHAT A FREAK" but heh, you got a peek right, where as otherwise your resume will just go through the grinder with the other 300 that will just sit nicely in their resume database...
I would recommend going to office depot etc and pick up 3/4 types of paper and print your resume on it. take it to your friends, dad, working professionals etc and have them pick the one that's most appealing. It is always a trial and error process... the important aspect, 1. professiona. 2. legible, 3. scannible. <-- prollyt he most important... and the argument for white paper. so depends, size of organization, their internal process and stuff...
