In an earlier post I was considering teachigbut I recently found out my school system will not be hiring non certified teachers anymore . In the past you could teach on a provisional license. The time it would take me to get fully certified I can easily go and get a masters degree. Which leads me to this question.

Which one looks the best:MBA with emphasis in IT or M.S in IT with emphasis on IT security.

When I was first getting into IT I knew it wouldnt be easy . I was interested in project management and net security from the start.

My undergrad degree is in economics and I still watch CNBC and other business channels to keep my head in the business world but I have come to really like the tech side of things.

I have about five years total and I am at a crossroads in my career. I dont want to be doing tech support forever. It is just that i dont want to make a wrong move and end up at a dead end.

Sorry for babbling just fishing for info.

Teach For America allows non-certified (but B.S.'d) people to teach. Not sure about MBA, my Master's was in EE.

An MBA is much better than M.S if you are looking at going for the management route.

I think an MBA is more versatile. You can use it to leverage yourself into a management position. Or if you get sick of IT, it will look good for a number of business opportunities.

If you want to teach, you can locate New Horizons if they have one in your area. They are a computer training company. They start their tainers out teaching software application classes. You move up the pay scale as you teach higher level IT classes (i.e. MCSE and/or CCNA).

Good luck with whatever you decide!
