| Recently got my A+ cert, my first. I'm looking at MCSE2K as my next track. Is this cert losing its luster, should I pursue a different track. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated on what's hot and what's not. Thanks | |

| Really certify based on your job objectives. However, if you have just gotten A+, are you just entering the IT field? If so, you might pursue MCP on the OS's, or even MCSA, but if you don't have much experience MCSE at this time is going to be a bit overkill.
Also, if your just entry-level, try Network+ next. A+ and Network+ together will fulfill one requirement toward MCSA, and in the meantime you can be working towards getting some valuable experience.
If you've got some work experience, then MCSE would seem a good next step. I think MCSE in general has lost some of its gloss, but most certifications have. However, it is still a worthwhile pursuit. Many openings for administrators prefer, some require, it. | |
