| I'm currently studying for my A+ cert. I have no work experience in any job involving the use of computers. When I pass my A+ I am immediatly going to study for my network+ exam.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to apply for a level 1 IT???
Thanks for your help in advance.

| Submit an resume for anything and everything that you think you have even a remote possibility for. After a couple hundred resumes you may get lucky. Getting the first job is the hardest. You could try a consulting company and try to get in on PC moves. It sucks, but it is a start. It's where I started and got me to where I am now happy and well paid.

| Don't overlook public service, schools, small businesses, and so on. Helpdesk is an ideal place for beginners, but the positions are not always easy to get. Apply for basically everything you see that you are even remotely qualified for. | |

| you could try moonlighting at a mom and pop computer shop.
look for small businesses, i found they are the best arenas for developing a wide range of skills. you should have exposure to a great variety of IT tasks, and you'll be more motivated to pursue more things.

| Your resume looks very impressive, but if I were you I'd put my experience section in bullet points and put the degree first before the certs. Cheerio and thanks for sharing | |

Good point...although I.T. isn't actually dead, its capacity for growth, and hence its ability to absorb new hires, has been crippled. Those who don't have a big investment in a skillset for the fied are advised to look elsewhere, preferably in an area that does not face competition from overseas.

what fields have no competition from overseas? one of the greatest skills you can have is your ability to communicate and relate technical issues to a user. If you compliment your social skills with technical skills you'll have an edge on foriegn competition. |
