Author Found a job!

After sending 150 resumes I finnally found a job.

It's not a permanent position, but a 2 month contract that can (and I hope will) become a permanent position.
I'll have to learn more about those 3 subjects : ISA, Exchange Server 5.5 and Cisco IOS.

So if anyone has good books to suggest on those topics, they will be welcome

I have a message to all that are unemployed :
keep your heads up and keep applying, stay positive and everything's gonna work for you.

Good luck with the job Miss. Mirabelles! Whether it becomes permanent or not - keep job searching while you are working. A tough call maybe with all the other work you will be doing, but if there is no guarantee of a permanent position actually being in work is a prime time to find more.

Maybe try "Microsoft Exchange Server in a Nutshell", O'Reilly Press, ISBN 1-56592-601-3

That is shite. So your career in I.T is going to last 2 months. More proof that I.T is a short term career. It comes and goes like a blink of an eye.

Congratulations! Don't let the naysayers get to you. Remember -- every journey begins with a single step. Even if it ends after two months, at worst you will have earned some money and will have professional experience to add to your resume.

Cisco has lots of good technical/educational info at their website. Here's a link to download tech documents relating to their OS:

For ISA, Try Tom's Shinder's book and spend ALOT of time on his site isaserver.org.
ISA is alot of fun after the intial frustration of setting up your first server.

Good Luck and Congrats

My job is totally new to me, but I am taking a gamble with this company.

My job is implementing PKI to Military personel.

I will be learning on the job.

Hey Jackiechan if you are expecting the world to be served up on a platter thing again, great things take time.

You are right IT is short term but not career wise, it is forever changing which means you have to keep up with it and there will always be work, it's the poeple that think after they have a few initials after their name that they all the sudden don't have to keep up are the ones who fail.

Good luck with finding work with that attitude.

I'm sorry to take so long but book you want for CCNA is written by Todd Lamell.

This will help you along the way.

Good Luck
