This should help the posters in here.
The recession is hitting everyone. Ive read in some magazines that some fields in IT do better than others.
From all of your experiences, rate the Top hot jobs that hire more than the dead stagnant ones. You know, like maybe development is hiring more than xp admins, or the reverse, etc.
Number them from best to worst.
C++,C#
Web development (java, asp, xml)
CCNA,CCNP
MCSE
Databaseracle, ms, db2
etc etc etc
you get the idea.

Note: im from the ny/nj/ct tristate area, so please state what are you are posting from so we can all get a better idea.

Well here in Madison WI the best certs to have are MCSE the second being a cisco one and also to have experience with accounting software. There is a ton of people needing techs here who have worked on supporting and maintaining accounting software. It's a town with mostly state agencies go figure got to count those tax dollars there stealing some how

well im located in the nj area .. i honestly have no idea wut is hot or not .. i would think it would be ccnp .. etc ..
i have a+, i+, and n+ that i passd a long time ago .. havent done crap since .. im gonna go take some cisco or something .. im really having no luck finding a job .. maybe ill go into engineering

In my area, AS/400 AS/400 AS/400... and they pay well!
