I've got a buddy who wants to move to japan, he has some years as a machinist, and could get his CDL(commercial drivers license) and other relatively low-tech jobs, carpentry painting stuff like that

I was looking around on some international job sites and really couldn't find anything to help him so I figured I'd ask here

hmmm, not much help here but just a commentary.

japan is prolly in a worst recession than the US...

couple that with the general anti-foreigner (ie, if I have a job, I will give it to our citizen than a foreigner, not necessary anti anti) attitude, I doubt he will find that job hunting there will be any easier than here.

I guess the only thing that can move very fast in Japan now is football.

U better go and learn how to play IT Football

I think Japan has been in a decade long recession. Unless your buddy speaks fluent Japanese and have contacts over there he's going to have a hard time finding a job.

Maybe your buddy can try to find a job on one of the US Navy bases like Atsuigu or Yokosuka. There are civilian jobs such as working for the public works department.

Cheers.

Japaneese lang seems very difficult when it is heard but it is one of the simplest lang. that can ever be learnt.

It can take one less than two months to be able to speak the lang fluently

The biggest problem with these things is getting a work permit.

I think you can get one if you are going to teach English, although presumably you have to have a qualification of some sort.
