| I just got message to confirm interview time, and I need to call them back to confirm.
Is it ok for me to ask the style of interview? Like, could this be the 1st of 2? technical? what?
My hubby thinks I've gone crazy over all this!

| You have to act like you grace them with your presence. You are simply the best. | |

Doing that will definately ensure it is the 1st of one interview.

| once again I disagree with jackie, but if you feel the need to know what your in for asking them who you will be interviewed by (either IT manager or HR rep or whatever) shouldn't be out of the question | |

| Well, they already had a nicely prepared email. (very organized I must say!)
The interview will be over two hours! I hope I survive! Intro, then 1/2 hour each with 4 different personnel (Sr. Application Development, Database Developer, etc...)
ugh, now I am super nervous.

| Don't worry.
If this is your first interview, mostly it is a normal interview that review your background and see how you "Look" like.
If they like you, then it might come with 2nd interview on technical issue.
Just be smart on the interview. I know it is hard, but do you best. Good luck

| I don't get nervous - I have a slow resting heartbeat. I never see any reason to get nervous. Ask yourself if this is a life or death experience. The answer is no. I used to get super nervous but that was a long, long time ago. It's okay to be nervous - what is not okay is to be nervous during the interview process to the extent that it impacts your performance. Fortunately this doesn't happen to many people - most people find that their nerves vanish as the interview takes place. Pre-interview nerves can also affect however - for example if one is prevented from sleep - the solution being to obtain a couple of sleeping pills from a general practitioner. There are also people that suffer from exam nerves to the extent that it impacts their result. So as I say, I am in the peculiar position of never suffering nerves in these situations and having suffered from them extensively in the past. I don't know how nervous you are, however what I am posting may be relevant to some people. They also say that not being nervous at all can also work against you ... guess I can't win! It's also okay to look fairly desperate in an interview, it can demonstrate how you really want the job. In this last example generally speaking this will neither work against you or for you. | |
