| I am currently employed by state government. In a non IT postition. I am currently going to a tech school to recieve an MCSA. I am not looking for the bigs bucks. My goal is to find an IT postion within gov't in order to keep my retirement, benefits etc.
My question is do I wait until I get my certification (hopefully September). To begin contacting agencies regarding a position or should I start that now letting them know my future plans?
Thanks | |

| Start now. I work in state government right now and the earlier your name goes on the lists, the better off your chances are. Do your applications now, and when you get your MCSA, just revamp them. | |

| I, too, say start now. Get your name out there. It will also help you get familiar with what skillsets are being sought. It will likely be a challenge to get into IT right now, but you could hit a good position with some luck. | |

| Yes start straight away and include in your resume that you are working on your MCSA under the qualifications section. | |
|
| Do it now.
However, MCSA is not enough.
Govn't is looking for people that in IS,CS and EE major.
certification only give you advantage on interview, but when come to real job functions. You better know your stuff.
U can transfer between Federal jobs. D.C is the place to go. |
