This might be a dumb question for tax-savvy
folks here. But here it goes - are the costs associated with IT certifications, exams and books, tax deductible for someone
who is already working in IT field?

Thanks for any input.

I was able to deduct the costs of books and exams.
But only the books I paid for as my employer paid for some of them.
Any training you paid for is deductable.
It comes under the heading of professional development.
This worked for federal and Ky state taxes.

As long as it relveant with your work and must be officially acceptance from your job. Then I think you will get some back.

Quite a few folks around here are from Canada. They all say the tax is the killer
up there.
