Author Subject line

I'm going to send a short message and my resume to some nearby compaines and I was wondering what I should put in the subject field of emails like that. It's not for a particular job and I don't want it to look like junk mail that people don't even bother to look at.

How about "I HAVE WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR"
and let curiosity do the rest.

Good luck dude

LOL dillinger - Not bad but if somebody sent me an email with that as the subject I would think it was junk mail from one of these porn sites.

I usually call first and try to talk to whoever would be looking at my resume. That way they'll probably at least look at it. Then I'll put something like "Here's My Resume" in the subject line.

How about:

"Inquiring about a position with your company"

or

"Do you have any positions that meet my qualifications?"

One more thing. I like ccieTOBO's idea. You may also try taking your resume to them in person. The company I work for sometimes has positions that are not advertised and we get people walking in all the time with resume in hand to see if we're hiring. I'd say 1/10 actually get an interview. 1/8 of those actually land a position, not necessarily the one they were after but it's a foot in the door until they either have more experience or the position they really want opens up. Just a suggestion. Good luck.

I would say your best bet is go there in person looking like you could start the job that day (meaning looking your best) and hand them a resume and make a good first impression. That is how I got my first job, I walked in talked to the owner and he was about to run an advertisment that week but instead hired me on the spot.

Well good luck potatohead hope you land a good job.
