| The difference is in the name and also the number of exams you have to pass!!
MCAD - Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (2 Core and 1 Elective)
MCSD - Microsoft Certifed Solutions Developer (2 Core and 2 Electives)
In my opinion, I think this is like a stepping stone from MCSA to MCSE .... | |

| Great question for the MCSD forum!
Spare the exam track? Huh?
quote: The MCAD for Microsoft .NET credential is appropriate for professionals who use Microsoft technologies to develop and maintain department-level applications, components, Web or desktop clients, or back-end data services or work in teams developing enterprise applications. MCSDs for Microsoft .NET are lead developers who design and develop leading-edge enterprise solutions with Microsoft development tools, technologies, platforms, and the Microsoft .NET Framework. The scope of responsibility of MCSDs encompasses that of MCADs and goes beyond it.
