| I am finishing up on a year long contract rolling out computers. My title is Desktop Support Specialist and we did NT Rollout with about 1200 computers and 2000 users.
What would be a good way to present this in my resume. I am looking for a jr. admin or something a like. I found helpdesk to be too boring

| How about a little more for us to chew on.
What exactly was your roll in the roll-out? Did you test settings and equipment? Help decide which equipment to purchase and/or implement? Supervise a team, or were you in charge of any particular aspect?

| Mostly, I installed the OS from a ghost image and ran scripts to set up the sms and branding information. I did set up the user's desktop settings (Office, Outlook, Notus Lotes 5.0).
I was mostly in the troubleshooting side of the rollout (Desktop and Laptop).
I was the person who installed a majority (~30%) of the images on the computer.
We really did not have set team leads, mostly they was people who questions was sent to, so our bosses was not bothered every couple of minutes.
Although, I have acted as a team lead I was never given the title of one. Usually the team leads will ask me what to do in certain areas.
I have done some limited logistics, by deciding where computers would be staged from and which computers would be done before others.
As for being in charge of any area. The only thing I was regularly was the more difficult problems.
I was able to create solutions for some of the major problems faced during the rollout, but most were not allowed to be used(One of my bosses is a real mega-b!t@h)
PS does driving my boss up the wall count

| Any takers yet?? | |
|
| Just write down the key duty and function u did on the job!
Using KEY word is important in a PROF resume.
Choose the KEY word wisely

| Sorry, my brain is just not functioning well on this level this week.
The only thing I seem to be able to think of right now is the phrase "Acted as team resource..." It doesn't say you are a team leader, but reflects your position of, er, usefulness to the team. Also, be sure to reflect that you were handling the upper level problems, because the act of working on a rollout team doesn't necessarily require that you really know anything, and you want to be sure to differentiate yourself from the box pushers.

| Hi Taqwus
After listing the job title, I would put a few bullet points describing some of your key responsibilities.
I would make sure that I started each sentence with a powerful action word.
Maybe something like:
* Installed operating systems on x no. of pcs
* Set up sms information and desktop settings
* Resolved complex problems for other team members
* Contributed to logistic decisions by organising location of pcs and order of installation
I'm sure you can improve on the above but hopefully you get the gist of the suggestion?!
Happy hunting!
