which cert is worth the most money?
|

|
| I think that on average the CCIE probably commands the highest salary, so it's not included in the pole. I was wondering which of the following certs the board members think commands the highest salary with all other things being equal. | |

| MC$E is the biggest cert now, but security issues are getting bigger and so is the CISSP cert. | |

| What about CCSE? | |

| Cisco, oracle, redhat certs are the most valued. CCIE is at the top indeed. | |

| Yeah. CCIE gets my vote too. There are probably less than 10,000 CCIE's, far less than the 480,000+ MCSE's.

| I figured I-Net+ would be the most popular - | |

| PotatoHead----
Just out of curiousity----is the Inet+ really gaining in popularity? Alos, do you know of any positions that could be applied for if this is the only cert you have? If so, what position names should one be on the lookout for?
These may seem like dumb questions, but I would love to know! Thanks for the input!

| This question cannot be answer! You can't compare certification like this way. | |
|
| I think everyone has one. It's simple, which single cert is the most valuable. I think CCIE has it hands down. I'm not sure about the others and I just wanted to see what to board thought in general. That's why it's a poll. There is no right or wrong answer.
I guess the real question is which of the listed certs would be worth most to you? In some areas of the country some certs are worth more than others. I saw a posting at monster.com for a CISSP @ $80-$90 per hour. Then again, I've seen postings for CISSP at 45K. Just a general question to get the feel of what everyone on this site and board thinks.
Also, I only listed those that I consider premium. I may have missed some, so I'm sorry if I missed any others that anyone thinks are high dollar certs.
Peace,

| I saw a CISSP job for $300K. And if you want to play in the big leagues I believe it is the one to have. CCIE is also a big one, but the largest salary increases in the next 10 years will be in the realm of security, IMHO | |

| Another that is not listed here is MCT. I know that is one that can definitely pay a few bills. According to M$ there are something like 12,000 | |

As long as you have the experience, of course.. Don't rely on the paper alone without any. | |

| In my experience MCT's actually get paid less than you would expect (for running MS courses). Good consultants get more. I know this because we have a couple of ex-trainers working here (as consultants).
Good way to work your way up though. |
