Author Resume to CV

OK, I'm starting to understand this CV thing. Someone asked about her CV and we all treated it like it was a resume which is not correct. Personally, I'd rather just have the resume since it's meant to be an introduction. You can ask for more details in the interview. I guess the CV is supposed to stand alone and include things like marital status which is not allowed in the States. The differences are interesting. Here's an article about the two.

In the UK we do not use resume's, CV's are the norm here (to be honest they are one and the same thing!). This is probably where the confusion lies - I do love the English Language!!

Technically, they are one and the same but it seems as though people look for different things on each side of the pond. It would seem that the Brits want more detail in the CV whereas here in the States, we like just the basics. We can ask for more details later.

Also some info that you are supposed to put on a CV could never be asked in the States in a job interview ("marital status"). I guess in the UK, they like to look at the whole person, whereas in the States we're just concerned about what you do on the job. That's why I honestly don't care to hear about someone's hobbies but it's considered acceptable on a CV,

Anyway, I thought that link would be helpful for those who want to get jobs on one side of the pond or the other.
