| At 35, you can wake up one morning feeling 25 and the next morning feeling 45. What an age.
dmaftei, with age comes knowledge. You are living proof. I am sure that many thought that you were some genius kid, but those of us with some years behind us had a good feeling. Keep up the great work!

| I don't want to feel left out:
31
Originally worked with computers as a teen, programming BASIC and PASCAL on Apple II's (ah, those were the days....when floppies really were) and DOS, baby! And to think today you can buy a monitor with more than 3 colors!! - The funny thing is that really wasn't that long ago!
Began getting back into the field a couple years ago in order to make a career change and loving every bit of it.
My advice:
Learn all you can and always push yourself.
Don't be like me and worry too much.
Live a good life and be happy

| I'm 15 here. Pretty young, and have long way to go. Currently studying for the A+ Exam, and planning to write my hardware test on July 25th. I'm taking the OS test this fall.
After passing A+, I am planning to take the Network + Exam, and maybe later, after a few years, taking MCSE+I.
This is my first post because I usually go to: http://pub3.ezboard.com/btotalseminars
Check it out, it's a nice forum.
Peace everybody, I will need your help here..

| That's a good one... yeah... join the army and become an "Army of One" like the commercial says. Yeah now is a crappy market.
As for me I'm...
26... starting to get too old for the clubs..
Male
BA in MIS/Business Administration
worthless OCP 8/8i
MCP for SQL Server 2000
I'm old skool.... I've been working with computers and technology back since I was in the womb...
Actually I always seemed to be good with computers... I loved playing video games... I had a atari 2600, then a small computer with a membrane keyboard where I typed
10 print "i am cool"
20 goto 10
and thought i was the s.hit
then moved up to a commodore 128 with a slow a.ss Serial Floppy Drive.
then my friends had computers and we used aol... so then we started making programs for AOL in VB macros(kinda like AOHELL) to do IM bombs, room busters, fake cc generators, etc... and that's what got me hooked...
Honestly, all I can say is that I really lucked out by picking the right field "computers & databases"
| nelsons1 2001-07-30, 5:38 pm |
| ocpguy...
So your the guy that made my aol days so enjoyable? hehehhe
loved aoice! Thanks for the good times!
| ocpguy 2001-07-30, 6:41 pm |
| hey Nelson1
What are the warez roomz called now?
Back in the day they were all called 'ice'
then aol banned the private rooms called ice, warez... then there was 'hot ice' 'cold ice' etc...
That might tell you that I'm pretty old...
I just got rid of my aol... i only used it to chat when i got really bored.. but broadband rules...
funny thing about aol... they will ban software pirating.. because that's evil... but they will allow child p.orn to be traded in the 'gif' and 'gifs' private rooms.
kinda like this site... they don't like trading dumps and cheat sheets .... but they prominently display ads for cheet-sheets and dumps...
don't worry... i'm not trying to start the pro/con dumping argument... I was just making an amusing observation.
| nelsons1 2001-07-30, 8:52 pm |
| Yeah, My favorite prog was aoice. I especially liked having it type whatever the target was saying but type it backwards. I had some fun with that one. I used to have every single one of those warez progs, till they started changing everything around to render them useless. Remember Phishing? heheheh. I was up to about 150 phish. Personally I think Aol sucks. They are the mary j of isp's ("the gateway drug"). There just so big that they are by default, THE place to start. }:>

| By November 2 I'll be 49. a 49-year old Chinese overweight(only by 12 pounds)woman who had spent twenty years in marketing management in Hong Kong; and who chose to migrat to Toronto to start from 0.
My first job in Toronto was an advertising coordinator in The Bay department store. It took me two years to progressed to the post of assistant manager of a chain drug store, then I got laid off after 5 years' service on a day my ex-colleage called it: the day of masscre.
I then became employed by Eatons, Vancouver as a department manager. Eatons got in financial turmoil and I was laid of only three months in the post. Desperate for a job I jumped into IBM Home Computing as an assitant store manager - which was a right jump. I Started to like computer from that point on. But I knew noting about computer except some software application at the time. None the less, I was promoted to the sore manager's post after one month's service. After a year, I quit the job and concentrated on studing A+; partly because I want to understand more about computer, and partly becuase The job pressure started to work on my health. I got certified in 6 months.
The A+ study made me feel the world of computer is very facinating. So after that I worked two jobs for one year to save up enough $ to pursue MCSE. Then I found MCDBA also interesting; and web design...
Now I have just passed my W2K professional, and have finished the certification of Internet Publishing in the University of British Columbia. I plan to finish all my MCSE and DBA exam's by the end of September. Though I wonder who will hire me after that...
